2012 recipes: spot prawn recipes 2012
A popular stop at the Festival is the Chefs Demo tent. Hosted by local chef and author Bill Jones of Deerholme Farm, the demo’s feature top local chefs producing dishes based on fresh local spot prawns.
Chefs participating include Valley chefs Brad Boisvert from the new Amuse Bistro on the Vineyard and Marisa Goodwin from Organic Fair. All the chefs will be cooking up samples of prawns and giving out recipes for their favourite dishes.
Look for the Chef Demo tent which will be set up right in front of the Cow Cafe, next to the Maritime Center.
Cooking demo’s will begin at 11:00 am and will be starting every hour all through Sunday May 19. There will be lots of prawn specials in the Village and you can explore the new Food Fair set up in the BIG TENT next to the Chef Demo area. Come prepared to buy some prawns and take them back to your own kitchen to enjoy. Small coolers and ice are available on site.
This is a family and pet friendly event that is the highlight of the Island Festival season.
